Today, Monday in Holy Week 2020, Archbishop Michael Jackson continues his series of reflections entitled ‘The Last Lap’.
Today he looks at isolation – the isolation we are all in currently in a bid to ‘flatten the curve’ of Covid–19 and the isolation of people with disabilities who, largely in times past went unseen and remained in isolation.
Referring to the Suffering Servant in today’s reading [Isaiah 42: 1–9], he suggests that the language used can refocus our thoughts on the role of leadership that a person with disfigurement and disability can and does give.
