A six week training course for Presbyterian Church in Ireland members who wish to learn how to prepare and deliver a talk from the Bible.
Handling the Word is a course for those who wish to learn how to deliver a biblical talk. It would be useful for anyone who gives talks to a youth fellowship, a Presbyterian Women meeting, a Men’s Breakfast as well as those who have the opportunity to preach a Sunday sermon. The course is normally a pre-requisite for the Accredited Preacher course but there is no obligation to progress to that scheme. The only entry requirement is to be a communicant member of a Presbyterian Church in Ireland congregation.
Each evening will include a teaching session and a practical workshop. Topics covered: the Bible as the foundation, understanding and applying the Bible passage and considering your hearers.
Pre-registration is required and the cost is £30.
Note: The course will run on Thursdays, 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th October and then 10th and 17th November (omitting 3rd November to avoid half-term) from 8pm to 10pm.
