Quiet but happy and optimistic Conference

It’s now a couple of weeks since the 250th Conference of the Methodist Church in Ireland finished.   It was a relatively quiet, but happy and optimistic occasion with generally  very little controversy. Much of the business side of the Conference was taken up with trying to get structures within MCI fit for purpose for the 21st century.  Chief among these has been the appointment of three new District Superintendents and four new District Lay Leaders to try to restructure the administrative burden on local churches and provide the resources and envision the new enlarged districts to make them more missional.
