Christ Church Cathedral Choir helps mark Sea Sunday in Monkstown Parish Church

The Choir of Christ Church Cathedral sang Diocesan Choral Evensong in Monkstown Parish Church on Sunday June 10. The service was part of the cathedral’s Diocesan Music Outreach Project and took place as the parish marked Sea Sunday. Throughout the service there were references to the sea, concluding with the organ voluntary – an improvisation on ‘A Sea Shanty’ by David Bremner, assistant organist at the cathedral.

The church, which is known for its acoustics, was filled with the voices of the choir, under the direction of the cathedral’s Organist and Director of Music, Ian Keatley, as parishioners and visitors alike…
