Scandal in the Church

To Paul,

I hear that you are very unhappy about a little affair here in Corinth, which is now common knowledge. Really, I am surprised that you are taking such a narrow view! If a man wants to live with his stepmother, I think it shows great spiritual maturity. After all, you yourself preach freedom in Christ. You must remember that Corinth is a modern, progressive city, not some Judean backwater! We should be leading the way in tolerance and open-mindedness. I hope you can be persuaded to take a more enlightened view of this matter.

Yours etc,

Artimios
