Experience Joy to the World at Lisburn Cathedral

Lisburn Cathedral is to tell the Christmas story in an imaginative way this December with live music and flowers in what will be a seasonal extravaganza for the whole community.

The Joy to the World event follows last year’s Christmas Tree Festival in the cathedral which attracted thousands of visitors from far and near.

Joy to the World takes place on Sunday December 7. The beautiful and historic cathedral will be packed, with the choir of Carrickfergus Grammar School singing Christmas music, and seven gifted flower arrangers creating seven wonderful displays over the course of the afternoon.

Event co-ordinator Mrs Heather Gibson said: “It’s a tremendous pleasure to welcome back international flower demonstrator the Rev William McMillan, as well as some of this year’s RHS Chelsea medal-winners and other well-known flower demonstrators. Accompanied by such a wonderful choir under the direction of Mr Edward Craig, this will be an unmissable event.”

This is not a ticketed event, but there will an opportunity to contribute a suggested donation of £10 to cathedral funds and to local charity …read more
