Members of the Belfast Cathedral Girls’ Choir will be singing live on BBC Radio Ulster’s Sounds Classical programme on Sunday night, November 9.

They will be accompanied by St Anne’s Master of the Choristers David Stevens. The segment will preview Britten’s War Requiem which is being presented by the Ulster Orchestra and RTE Concert Orchestra in St Anne’s on Friday November 14.

The girls are scheduled to sing two pieces – not from the Requiem – but David will talk about this major concert in which he and the Girls’ Choir play a part, and about the Cathedral choirs and the Choir School Project.

Sounds Classical is on BBC Radio Ulster from 8pm-10pm and David and the choir are scheduled to be live on the programme around 9pm.

Britten’s War Requiem is in St Anne’s on Friday November 14, starting at 7.45pm (tickets http://ulsterorchestra.com/events/brittens-war-requiem ). An open rehearsals takes place in St Anne’s on Thursday November 13 from 7pm.
