Irish Methodist Working Party on Human Sexuality

By Magheragall Methodist Church

Irish Methodism’s Faith & Order Committee has established a Working Party on Human Sexuality. The Working Party, formed in response to a request from the Church’s General Committee, will be chaired by former Lay Leader Gillian Kingston and will develop a listening and learning process for the Church. It will provide, in the first instance, a discussion paper for the Faith & Order Committee and opportunities for members to engage and respond in grace to the difficult issues faced by churches and societies.

Meanwhile the Faith & Order Committee Convenor, Dr Fergus O’Ferrall, has been appointed to the Select Committee on Human Sexuality established in 2014 by the General Synod of the Church of Ireland. A member of that Select Committee will be invited to join Irish Methodism’s Working Party.
