Co Monaghan project review.

Hope cafe

What a wonderful five months of evangelism in Co Monaghan, Ireland working with Glenan and Ballyalbany Presbyterian Church.

The project included:

  • 24 preaches at Sunday services,
  • various youth events
  • ‘If My People…’ prayer event in St Patricks
  • Men’s curry outreach in the local pub
  • Ladies’ ‘Diamonds event’ in the Westenra Hotel
  • 5 weeks of ‘Directions’ evangelism training course
  • 5 weeks of ‘The Journey’ bible study/ Alpha style course in Westenra Hotel
  • A Puppet praise party
  • Establishing a new ‘Cafe church’ called Hope Cafe based in North Street in the town.
  • Countless planning meetings and over 5,600 miles traveled.

This was in every sense a partner church project and the hard work and dedication of the church in Monaghan really did make an enormous difference.

We can give thanks to God for those who responded to the call to salvation and to others who recommitted their lives during our time in the town.

Lasting legacy?

The success of another cafe Church project has been very encouraging for us. Whilst the last cafe Church (in West Church Bangor) project has been successful using the existing church buildings, this cafe is now firmly planted within the town itself in a neutral venue.
