This month’s Gospel readings start with Jesus sending disciples out on mission and end with teaching on the content and attitude of prayer. Prayer and Mission are at the very heart of our church life, or at least they should be. When we put them there we discover that God can really be trusted. But God’s ways aren’t always our ways and so, in the middle of the month, we also read of how Jesus breaks down some of the barriers which we so easily take for granted and ensure that his Gospel is for all.
