Stormy, wet weather in County Cork on Palm Sunday gave donkeys a rest this year

Very stormy, windy, wet weather on the south coast meant that the usual outdoor Palm Sunday processions couldn’t go ahead this year as usual.  In Clonakilty and Carrigaline parishes the much–loved participation of donkeys didn’t happen this year.  In Carrigaline, the rector, the Reverend Elaine Murray, said: ‘A very wet Billy the Donkey, who had come to church specially for the procession, was disappointed.’
