Congratulations to our 18 new Diocesan Readers commissioned by Bishop Harold in a packed Dromore Cathedral on Friday 21 September. It was a record number of Readers commissioned at once and a great encouragement to the diocese. The new Readers join the existing team of 26 who were recommissioned earlier in the year.
Diocesan Lay Readers have a significant voluntary role in assisting the ministry of the church. They are authorised by the Bishop to preach, teach, lead worship and engage in pastoral work, not just in their own parish but in other churches…
